October 1, 2014 – Letter to the Editor in the Rutland Herald.
Robin Chesnut-Tangerman is the right choice for state representative for Pawlet, Wells, Middletown Springs, Rupert and Tinmouth. I have known Robin for many years and watched him excel as a leader in our town, particularly as a member of our Select Board.
One thing I appreciate is his ability to listen to people with different ideas — sometimes strongly different ideas — with respect and care. Robin has a gift for calming the room when emotions are high and helping people find commonsense solutions. This was especially clear in his years of service working on town budgets, a thankless task that he accomplished with grace, vision, and attention to detail. These are qualities we should always look for in our representatives in the State House.
Robin has a number of commonsense ideas for helping our communities and the whole state move forward in the areas of education, health care and the economy. His ideas for saving money in health care while simplifying the paperwork and insurance application process strike me as particularly important. These are things we need to address to have an affordable health care delivery system in our state.
Robin Chesnut-Tangerman has spent years working for the long-term good of our community, while being mindful of the immediate challenges facing working families in our rural area. He has the experience to represent us well in Montpelier. I am proud to support him for representative.
